  3. How would they have gotten that picture? Was it posted anywhere other than here?
  4. Voting for Thursday's loss at Wrigley will close on Wednesday morning. Schaefer POTG 5/26/11 - Cubs 9, Mets 3
  5. Geez. I saw a report the other day that suggested it was very treatable, and that chemo would likely take care of it. Sounds like the diagnosis has taken quite a turn for the worse. How awful.
  6. Niese 3 Reyes 3 Thole 2 Murphy 2
  7. Wild stab here: Willie Wilson, Kansas City, 8th place.
  8. And no Mets opponent has ever had three triples in a game. This is the seventh time that Jose Reyes has tripled twice in a game, and the third time this season. http://www.leaptoad.com/mets/metleaders.php?tabno=4
  9. Okay then! Let's see if we can get a guy to reach the one-thousand-run mark. I nominate... Jose Reyes. Stick around Jose!
  10. I too have been heeding the words of the blimp. I find that the Mets can't hold my attention for more than a couple of innings. I'm still following the team closely, but I'm spending little time watching them.
  11. Here's something we missed: David Wright recently became only the third Met to reach 2,000 total bases: 1. Ed Kranepool 2047 2. Darryl Strawberry 2028 3. David Wright 2005 4. Mike Piazza 1885 5. Howard Johnson 1823 6. Jos Reyes 1802 7. Edgardo Alfonzo 1736 8. Cleon Jones 1715 9. Mookie Wilson 1586 10. Carlos Beltran 1474
  12. I should have posted this on Wednesday: The Schaefer Mets Player of the Week for the week ending May 21, 2011 is Justin Turner with 11.77 points.
  13. Bay 1 Pelfrey 4.5 Reyes 2.5 Turner 1
  14. Beato 0.8 Beltran 0.5 Capuano 3.2 Paulino 0.5 Reyes 2.5 Turner 2.5
  15. Jose Reyes just doubled for his 1,188th hit, tying him with Cleon Jones for second place on the all-time Mets list.
  16. No, you're not. The name Ray Finkle is not familiar to me.
  17. He's walking around in a book? Suddenly he's Christopher Robin?
  18. Dickey 0.5 Murphy 1 Pridie 0.5 Reyes 1
  19. Voting for Wednesday night's win over the Cubs in Chicago will close some time over the Memorial Day weekend. Please try to get any remaining votes in today. Schaefer POTG 5/25/11 - Mets 7, Cubs 4 (Rain Shortened Win)

If they can trade him, they should do it, even if it hurts their chances (such as they are) for 2011. Especially if that money can go towards securing Jose Reyes. I don't know who the "closer" would be. (Isringhausen? Beato? Buchholz?) I also don't know that it matters a whole lot, but everyone will think that it does.

  22. Voting for Tuesday's ugly loss at Wrigley will close on Friday morning. Schaefer POTG 5/24/11 - Cubs 11, Mets 1
