  1. Jason Pridie received a total of 0.02 points, which averaged down to zero, so he does not appear in the results.
  2. Yogi Berra or Casey Stengel. I'd never wear it, of course.
  3. Gwreck wrote: I don't want Rollins on the Mets because he's older and less talented than he used to be. But he's exactly the kind of player I like. If he had been on the Mets all these years, we'd love him the same way we love Jose. I agree.
  4. I thought this was going to be another one of those "vote for the sexiest bridesmaid" threads.
  5. I just hope it's not the Mets.
  6. I'd make him an offer he couldn't refuse.
  7. I was able to tell it was stupid just by the headline. I started to Madden's article a quick skim to get the rough gist, but I found I couldn't even bring myself to do that.
  8. The remaining two games from the series against the Pirates will close on Tuesday morning. Haven't voted yet? Please do so today. Schaefer POTG, 06/01/2011: Pirates 9 Mets 3 Schaefer POTG 6/2/11 - Mets 9, Pirates 8
  9. Beltran 1 Dickey 5 Pagan 1 Reyes 2 Turner 1
  10. I'd be happy with A or B. Outfield and pitching are the two areas I think I'd most like to beef up. (I also wouldn't mind a hot catching prospect.)
  11. Did AMC butcher it? They used to be the station that showed movies uncut and uninterrupted, but now they show them cut and interrupted.
  12. Sunday night baseball. Tim Hudson (5.82 ERA over his last four starts) takes on R.A. Dickey. Larry Jones expected to get a blow tonight.
  13. Gee 5 Reyes 3 Pridie 1 Thole 1
  14. (I just realized that Robinson and Rose can't both be correct.)
  15. Frank Robinson? Pete Rose? Carlton Fisk?
  16. Say what you will about Al Quaeda, but at least they don't eat pizza with a knife and fork.
  17. The next game Jose Reyes plays will be his 979th, which will tie him with Lee Mazzilli for 10th place on the Mets all-time list. 1. Ed Kranepool 1853 2. Bud Harrelson 1322 3. Jerry Grote 1235 4. Cleon Jones 1201 5. Howard Johnson 1154 6. Mookie Wilson 1116 7. Darryl Strawberry 1109 8. Edgardo Alfonzo 1086 9. David Wright 1043 10. Lee Mazzilli 979 11. Jos Reyes 978 Second place on the At-Bats list is very much in reach for this season: 1. Ed Kranepool 5436 2. Bud Harrelson 4390 3. Cleon Jones 4223 4. Jos Reyes 4151 5. Mookie Wilson 4027 6. Howard Johnson 3968 7. David Wright 3918 8. Darryl Strawberry 3903 9. Edgardo Alfonzo 3897 10. Jerry Grote 3881
  18. I haven't started one of these all year. Let's see if I have a winning streak in me. Today Dillon Gee, with a nice 5-0 record, faces off against Jair Jurrjens, with a much less impressive record of 7-1. (He lost a game! HAH!)
  19. Beltran 1 Murphy 1.25 Niese 5 Pagan 1.25
  20. Wondering who "Half Pint" is... Anyway... Call me crazy, but I think that dress would look better on Ava Gardner.
  21. G-Fafif wrote: Wondering if this is Wright's lowest finish ever. It very well might be. If you're curious enough to do some clicking around, you can get to all the results from here.
  22. My vote is for Mackey Sasser. But Justin Turner definitely has a chance to unseat him. I'm already starting to wonder who Justin's Rookie-of-the-Year competition will be.
  23. Updated award winner standings, with most recent winners in bold: PLAYER OF THE MONTH David Wright 10 Johan Santana 6 Carlos Beltran 5 JOSE REYES 4 Cliff Floyd 2 Tom Glavine 2 Carlos Delgado 2 Ike Davis 2 Mike Cameron 1 John Maine 1 Angel Pagan 1 Jeff Francoeur 1 R. 24. I had a baseball card prepared for Turner just in case; it was a very tight three-way race until close to the end. I wouldn't be at all surprised if I got to use that card before the year is out.
