  2. I think I read that they expect Juan to rejoin the team when they get to Denver on Thursday.
  3. I was at that game too. September 11 was a dark day, well before 2001.
  4. That's pretty cool. I had a Sunday ticket plan back in the 80's, and I'd frequently see Nixon sitting in a front-row box just to the right of the Mets dugout.
  5. Frayed Knot awarded 10.1 points, and his votes were prorated as follows: Niese 4.15 Matsuzaka 0.3 Rice 0.3 Duda 1.97 Tejada 0.99 Nieuwenhuis 0.99 D'arnaud 0.5 Granderson 0.5 Farnsworth 0.3
  6. Voting for last Thursday's afternoon win over the Cardinals will close on Wednesday morning, some time after 10 a.m. Schaefer POTG 04/24/2014 Mets 4, St. Louis 1 Also, while the official announcement will come tomorrow, this is an unofficial heads up that all three games from the Miami series will close on Thursday morning.
  7. If any teams relocate in the near future (Tampa Bay? Oakland?) I think that Charlotte, North Carolina may be one of the best available destinations. (Tennessee is another.)
  8. Voting for last Wednesday's win over the Cardinals will close on Tuesday morning, some time after 10 a.m. Schaefer POTG 4/23/14 - Mets 3, Cardinals 2
  9. Yes, Zvon, you can edit your vote up until the voting has been closed. (That's when the graphic showing the results is posted.) And no, no non-voting messages in the voting thread, at least, not until after the voting has been closed. Thanks.
  10. Gee 5.5 CYoung 2 Murphy 0.5 Duda 1 Wright 1
  11. I didn't know he was from Michigan! He's just like Madonna!
  12. Abreu 2 Duda 2 Familia 1 Rice 0.7 Matsuzaka 1.3 Murphy 1
  13. I find myself hoping he gets less than the $14.1 million (or whatever the number was) that he rejected.
  14. I guess this thread was premature.
  15. Is this guy still alive? He must be seriously rethinking his strategy.
  16. And easily Shawn Marcum's best game as a Met.
  17. One seventh of the way through the season, 13-10 projects to... 91 wins!
  18. When that ball jumped off Abreu's bat I was sure the game was tied. I too, with little trust in Granderson coming through, would have sent Quintanilla home. Things turned out okay. I was surprised at how much faith I had in Nieuwenhuis when he was batting.
  19. Duda 0.8 Familia 0.6 Granderson 1 Murphy 0.5 Nieuwenhuis 0.8 Quintanilla 1 Wheeler 4 Wright 0.8 EYoung 0.5
  20. We're still waiting for that other shoe to drop.
  21. Mike Puma, N.Y. Post wrote: Despite the fact Vic Black hadnt allowed a run in six appearances at Triple-A Las Vegas entering Wednesday, Collins indicated the right-hander isnt close to returning to the big leagues. Collins cited the fact Black had seven walks over 7 /? innings. The right-hander was demoted to the minors in spring training because of control problems.
  22. It wouldn't be at all like the Yankees to try to trumpet their own glory.
  23. Voting for Tuesday night's loss to the Cardinals will close some time over the weekend, but not before 10 a.m. on Saturday. Schaefer POTG 4/22/14 - Cardinals 3, Mets 0
