  1. Colon 5 d'Arnaud 3 Flores 1 Lagares 1
  2. I'd give Conforto a shot against a lefty.
  3. Colon vs. Hand. I think we've seen this matchup before. I seem to remember a recent "battle of the body parts." Or maybe I'm thinking of Rectum vs. Spleen.
  4. Frayed Knot awarded 10.2 points and his votes were prorated as follows: harvey 2.35 gilmartin 0.2 clippard 0.29 reed 0.29 tejada 1.96 conforto 1.37 cespedes 1.37 d'arnaud 1.18 johnson 0.98
  5. If I ever decide to shut down the UMDB, it will probably be because Baseball Reference has rendered it superfluous. Martin Prado vs. the Mets
  6. A very bad day yesterday. There is no joy in updating this chart this morning. Mets lose a walkoff in Miami and the Nationals win a walkoff at home against the Braves. Magic number remains at 24, the division lead drops to 5 games, and the NHOP rises to .429. The Nationals have now won three in a row. With the Mets set to arrive in Washington the day after tomorrow, this could be a very dangerous time for the Nationals to be gaining momentum. Fasten your seatbelts! 8. Rockin' Doc wrote: As soon as Terry brought "White Flag" O'Flaherty in to pitch, I mentally marked this game up as a loss. Me too. What was he thinking? Terry's bullpen decisions will make me crazy if I let them. Extra-inning road games seem to be especially maddening. If the Mets are playing in October I may have to watch with my eyes closed.
  9. I think Terry put O'Flaherty in the game because he was tired and wanted to end the game and go back to the hotel.
  10. Two late- inning tie games going on and we're rooting for both visiting teams.
  11. Braves didn't score. Nationals have tying run on third with one out.
  12. Atlanta has two runners on and nobody out.
  13. Braves still up by one going into the ninth.
  14. Has Wilmer arrived yet?
  15. Braves up 2-1 in the 8th
  16. Rockin' Doc wrote: I'm really going to miss Cespedes next year, but I'm enjoying him while the Mets habve him. That's how I feel too.
  17. I felt that one coming.
  18. No Murphy, Cuddyer, or Flores. Is Wilmer still away from the team?
  19. Scott Boras likes to find the one dumb owner who will overpay, dramatically, for his client. If the Mets wisely choose to not be that one dumb team, then I won't find fault with that. I think that's how it will play out with Harvey. I don't think, in this case at least, it's going to be about the Wilpons.
  20. It needs to be something simple, that doesn't require counting higher than ten. Maybe he could lick envelopes or something.
  21. Let's just crush him in the first inning and be done with it!
  22. My feeling is, and has been, that the Mets should trade him after the 2016 season. He'll be two years from free agency and (assuming he's healthy, of course) his trade value will probably be very high.
