  1. I think it's hilarious that a reporter has to clarify that the suspension is "not dildo-related."
  2. If it's about the dildo this is an extreme overreaction. If he did the dildo thing they should fine him $1,000 and have him make a public apology. Nothing more than that. I expect it's something else. But I have no idea what that something else may be.
  3. Some speculation that he was the dildo-in-the-locker guy. I can't believe this is the reason. I would be surprised if the Mets had a "team rule" about dildos! I mean, I believe that Jeff Wilpon is allowed in the clubhouse, isn't he?
  4. Anthony DiComo and Steve Gelbs reporting the same thing. Steve Gelbs wrote: Matt Harvey will not start. Suspended 3 days without pay for violating team rules. He has been sent home. Adam Wilk will start. Mets not giving any more information at this point.
  5. If you have any catching up to do, please try to do it this week. On Sunday morning, May 14, voting will close for all games played through April 30. Look for the announcement of April's Players of the Month. Number of games voted by voter, as of this morning, through the first 28 games: Ashie62 28 Benjamin Grimm 28 TMF 28 OhSheaCanKC 27 G-Fafif 27 TransMonk 27 Lunch 26 LWFS 23 FK 19 Zvon 13 Vic Sage 7 WeSuck 1 ConfortoTime! 1 GetYourBrooms 1 Don Johnson 1 Farmer Ted 1
  6. I sure hope they don't lose another lead to a rainout. But it does look like they've lost Asdrubal Cabrera.
  7. Post profiles Pill
  8. I'm glad the Mets have a younger infield on the horizon.
  9. I was figuring they would put Travis on the DL to activate Montero. If there's a rainout, I guess they might as well wait another 24 hours before deciding anything. Is 4 p.m. the deadline for moves that would go into effect for tonight's game?
  10. He's so dumb, he's being considered for a job in the White House!
  11. Yeah, I think Keith was saying that Ramirez doesn't decide who goes on the disabled list, or who plays in a game. So if Cespedes returned to action too soon, it wasn't Ray's call. Nor was he the one who decided it was okay for Syndergaard to pitch on Sunday.
  12. Okay, maybe I'm thinking of the post-season. A six-inning game in the post-season would be completed even if one team is in the lead. That happened in 2008 with the Phillies and the Rays in the World Series.
  13. The fact that just about every reference to Steven Matz's injury describes it as a "mysterious elbow ailment" doesn't really give me a warm fuzzy feeling.
  14. I think that makes sense. I find myself wondering if the few innings that Zack Wheeler threw last night will count towards his innings limit for the year. Or will they be forgotten?

It used to be that postponed games didn't wipe away in-game stats. It kind of stinks. I don't think that's true. As long as I can remember, if a game fails to go the official distance, it's as if it was never played and the stats are discarded. Stats have counted for official games, including ties, that end before nine inning have been played. So a six-inning tie, the stats count. A four-inning washout, they don't. What's changed is that games that get suspended now get continued. So if the rain came in the sixth inning, the Mets and Braves would have to complete the game at some future date. It would no longer stand as a complete six-inning game.
  16. Bobby Valentine managed 1,003 games. And Davey Johnson managed 1,012. Terry is in very elite company. FUN FACT: The list of 1,000-game managers and the list of more-than-one-postseason managers will soon be exactly the same.
  17. If the Mets built an ark, however, I imagine it would be heavily populated with relief pitchers and not enough position players.
  18. I definitely have more Marvel (and classic cinema) than DC in my DNA. When I hear "Metropolis" I don't first think of Superman's city. I think of Fritz Lang's silent classic.
  19. Unless there's a doubleheader on Saturday or Sunday, of course.
  20. He really looked feeble in that at bat.
