I know that players are currently being signed to minor-league deals, but my guess is that Familia can't be, because the Mets aren't allowed to talk to him. I don't know, however, exactly how it's determined who the teams can talk to and who they can't. Bringing back Jay-or-Reese wouldn't be the worst thing, as long as they don't plan to count on him too much.

So they're celebrating the 60th anniversary this year instead of the 60th season last year. The opposite of what they did for the 25th. (I don't remember what they did for the 50th.) The last 60 years tell us that the Mets finish the season in first place ten percent of the time.

Wake the kids. Phone the neighbors. Put your feet up on the dog. The Tabloid Cover Derby will resume on Monday!

The wild-assed speculation by people who have no inside information doesn't interest me. What I miss is the possibility that something will happen that will help define the 2022 team.
