  1. I thought that was Paul McCartney.
  2. If I did that, I think I'd have to get a new hat.
  3. I don't mind sharing her.
  4. It was me. I haven't seen her this week! Either they fired her for peeing too much or she's on vacation. Maybe she's peeing in Acapulco this week.
  5. I'm sure she'd be flattered!
  6. You mean my imaginary girlfriend who pees a lot?
  7. I don't think "our talent in the minors" will produce anyone the quality of Roger Clemens for 2006. He would definitely improve the team. I can root for players that I don't like. In Clemens' case, it wouldn't be for long. Color me lukewarm on the idea.
  8. Willets Point wrote: I could deal with Clemens as a Met. Really? So why are you so down on Glavine?
  9. ]Just curious as to why the moneyed Mets aren't being mentioned in the Roger Clemens sweepstakes. He would make a much better playoff rotation buddy for Pedro Martinez than Victor Zambrano or Brian Bannister. Interesting thought.
  10. Maybe FDR or LBJ.
  11. That one I intend to avoid.
  12. Did Heep and Fitzgerald and Aguilera have mullets? I have to say I don't remember their hair styles at all. When I picture them they're wearing blue baseball caps.
  13. My sister hated Sid Fernandez. But she liked Rick Aguilera.
  14. My sister liked Danny Heep and Mike Fitzgerald.
  15. That 1972 team could've done so much better. It was a better team than the one that won the pennant the following year. Now it can serve us as a cautionary tale for 2006. There's still a long way to go in this season. It's great that the Mets have jumped out to this kind of start, but we're a far way from clinching anything. The magic number is 132.
  16. I'd be willing to watch it. I don't feel a strong desire to, but if it comes on HBO I might watch it.
  17. So packrat and Dreamer are the winners. Congratulations!
  18. I guess it is final. Nobody on the chart left since Seo was traded.
  19. Reyes won't be eligible for free agency until after 2009. They really don't have to give much thought to a long-term contract for him for a while yet. After 2007 would be the earliest, I think, and that's only if he's a top player at that point. Otherwise, wait until after 2008. If he's mediocre at that point, you can accept the risk of losing him, especially if there's a viable replacement in the pipeline. For now, just let him play, and let him try to improve his game. There's no point right now worrying about whether he'll be signed for 2012 or beyond.
  20. You kinda ignored Bret's second paragraph there, Rotblatt.

Couldn't bring myself to watch it. When Billy Crystal is on David Letterman talking about the Yankees, I hit the fast forward button. The thought of watching a movie made by Crystal about Mantle and Maris just seemed unbearable. Maybe I missed a good movie, but I can live with myself.
  22. I don't recall any such press conference either.
  23. I think I may have brought that up. Some arenas get about $1 million per year for the naming rights; which is what the Mets are paying Jose Valentin. Not nearly enough to sell your soul for. If it's closer to $10 million, I can better understand the temptation. I'd still like to see them resist, though. The Yankees will, but they have all the money.
