  2. Well, there was a ceremony there, wasn't there?
  3. Billy Crystal has become completely intolerable. The only thing I'd consider watching him in is a rerun of Soap.
  4. Wasn't his one hit as a Met a game-winner?
  5. Only Derek Jeter can save them now.
  6. I wonder if this means they lose O'Day. If so, I'd almost rather give Stokes a spot start or something. I don't know if O'Day is all that, but he seems to be a useful part and I wouldn't want to just cast him away because of a one-day need for a starter.

  8. I'd rather see the costumers than hear them. What kind of costumes were they wearing?
  9. Kong76 wrote: Yeah, I meant it more out of curiosity ... I don't understand the rules. Whichever network has the Saturday Game of the Week (Fox?) has exclusivity to any games that start before 7 p.m. But I don't understand why SNY can carry it in New York but Extra Innings has to black it out in other markets. I also don't understand why Cooby's Amish zip code is considered Mets territory. There's a lot of irrationality in the formula, it seems.

  13. I was all set to watch, but then I remembered the Saturday afternoon blackouts.

  16. Is she wrong, though? If Wagner is healthy in late August, he could be a terrific addition to the bullpen. Problem is, I think they'll be 12 games out by then.
  17. I don't anticipate any post-season baseball this year.

  20. Are you referring to the cemetery?
  21. Would it make more sense for a statue of Connie Mack to be in Philadelphia or Oakland? Should Walter Johnson be honored in Washington, or in Minneapolis? My votes would go to Philadelphia and Washington. So I think it's more appropriate to honor Jackie Robinson in New York than in Los Angeles. But I think the big rotunda at the Mets ballpark is a bit much. Were it up to me, Citi Field would not look like Ebbets Field. It wouldn't be retro at all. And there would be a nice big memorial to Jackie Robinson in Brooklyn somewhere. Maybe somewhere near the anchorage of the Brooklyn Bridge, so that people could walk there from Manhattan.
  22. He doesn't have enough hair for a crew.

Actually, though, I was suggesting something a little more polished for what the Mets should do. batmagadanleadoff Apr 16 2009 08:37 AM I'd like for the Mets to build an exact size replica model of Shea Stadium over the exact same spot where the real Shea Stadium formerly stood.
