Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 We're gonna need one of these. Cubs going with TBA to face Kershaw in Gameon Saturday evening in the ravine.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Tough one to pick sides: CHC deserves thanks for beating WSH but they won last year and many of their fans are poseurs and frontrunners.LAD has Granderson but they also have Utley. I'm going with LAD but not with any passion and I'll root for HOU either way if that happens.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Corey Seager left off the Dodger NLCS roster with back issues
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 No Seager but I like the DodgersSeries MVP Justin Turner
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 To the home team, straight from Khan (or Ahab, take your pick): From hell's heart, I stab at thee. For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee. Compared to the way I feel about them, they were nice guys.Granderson deserves to be in better company.Later
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 I don't really care who wins this series. On one hand I really don't want the Cubs to win another WS for a hundred more years and onthe other hand I've never rooted for anything LA-ish on many levels.I'm in let's go 'stros mode!!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 That was a PERFECT block of the plate by Contreras.MLB very much screwed up when they decided to "fix" that rule and I love hearing Ronnie say so with the whole sport watching.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Yeah, they need to work on that rule some. Agreed on nice job by Darling. Nice to see wanker Maddon run.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 That was certainly an interesting trip around the bases for Culberson, the SS replacing Seager on the roster.- first he hits a leadoff double, but then a Sac Bunt doesn't move him up because he balked at moving when the bunt was towards the 3rd base side- then an infield single fails to move him up as it was also on that side of the infield so again he held- then, after all that, he gets thrown out at the plate on an outfield single but gets the call reversed on the blocking the plate call

Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 It used to be the one redeeming characteristic of the Dodgers in the postseason was that one could listen to Vin Scully on the MLB app, but now we don't even have that.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 ARod is back in the studio wondering how Bellinger got the pitcher to drop the flip without even hitting him with his pocketbook.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 (edited) And the red-headed mountain man hits a 3R walkoff HR Edited October 16, 2017 by Guest
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Fucking former Mets succeeding on teams I hate.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Wow, walk off dinger for Mets castoff Justin Turner. Good on him.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I hesitate saying anything bad about A-Rod in respect to the fact that he's the best shortstop the MFYs ever had.Seriously, he and his new steady - J-Lo - just hosted a telethon that raised money for relief for Puerto Rico. They are deeply involved in those efforts. He deserves credit for that. Now back to this series. Go Cubs!Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Meanwhile we're seriously ignoring this series although between the later starts, the burn-out factor from the AL series, and the (so far) one-sided nature of it, it's understandable.I'm some 20 minutes behind on this one at this point (I'm purposely starting these games a half-hour late and playing catch-up with the DVR in order to take some 20-30 off the game length) butthe Cubs are out-solo-HR'ing the Dodgers 2-1 thru 3 so far in their attempt to live another day.Rich Hill vs Jake ArrietaHR's: Javier Baez, Willson Contreras (a fucking BOMB!), Cody Bellingerbtw, has anyone see Chase Utley lately? His hair has gone completely gray. I remember him with a couple streaks in it but now he's the Silver FoxNot that that has stopped him from getting in the way of another pitch already tonight.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Javy Baez, hitless for the entire post-season coming into tonight (0/20) has HR'd twice now - so maybe there's some hope for the Astros oh-fers.3-1 Cubs (at least in my time zone it is)Rich Hill is now being yanked (NTTAWWT)
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 An hour earlier tonight with a day off in the AL series - 8:00 EDTKershaw vs Quintana
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 7-0 LA in the third with Kershaw pitching with that lead.Looks like that's all she wrote, boys and girls. The nightmare is getting closer.Later
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Oh the pain. Oh the shame.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Granderson in the Series hitting cheap HR after cheap HR to destroy the MFYs...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 If Corey Seager is healthy enough, I'm thinking that Granderson might find himself not on the WS roster. He did have 7 pokes since the trade so could be a threat off the bench, but he also hit .161 with a 30% K-rate, and in the post-season he's 1/15 with 8 Ks
