Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Flexen holds 'em to 1 run on 30 pitches in the first. I guess that's something.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Based on our season's average of 0.87 runs allowed per/1st inning, it's pretty close to the norm for this year.Last year's 1st inning average for the entire season, 0.40, was less than half what it is this season Folks can question Terry on his lineup choices or his bullpen management, but those stats are purely the results of that night's starter and therefore essentially out of his hands.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Zimmo totally makes this team go. I don't understand why they look at him as though he's some kind of limited player at the same time they apprar ready to gamble on Smith developing enough first base power to succeed Doodoo
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Wrong Gary. Dennis Martinez has the most wins for any Latin pitcher but not foreign born.Rik Aalbert Blyleven of Zeist, Netherlands = 287, 42 more than 'El Presidente'
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 He's got some rough edges on his game, but nothing that can't be sanded off if they show some commitment. It's philosophically a big problem with this organization. They give lip service to on-base percentage, but they don't commit to the players who give it to them.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Two infield grounders by Wilmer tonight which 90% of ML'ers turn into singles.Wilmer was out by a wide margin both times.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Sweet play by Lagares, then Travis.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I never would have sent the runner on that play. Heck, I might not have sent Dee Gordon, but great job by Lagares. Are the umps wearing wrist bands again? This time gray?

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Zimmo is dominating this game.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 And he's doing it playing his game.I think we're finally in the position where he's the manager's first choice for leadoff hitter. It's a step forward that's overdue.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Conforto not chopped liver tonight, Nimmo or not...

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 He walked to load the bases.Would have been nice if Cabrera got the bat off his shoulder as the next batter.Great stop by Smith. Blevvy fails to cover first. Come on, 2017 Mets! Your head-out-of-game-ness has reached critical mass.Crap footwork by Rosario, too, but I guess he had given up on the throw by then.
