Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Leadoff double followed by .... absolutely fucking nothing for the next four innings/thirteen batters. And, yes, Gary, d'Arnaud has been hidden defensively. The problem is that he's also been hidden offensively!
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Somewhere in America, Matt Reynolds is heading for the airport.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 THIS is a situation that calls for a Josh Edgin.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Which Mets pitcher has the most Subway Series wins? I'm guessing Trachsel.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 so now, even when our HRs are preceded by a walk and a hard smash they still wind up as solos. And isn't it amazing how often, even when they do hit against the shift, they manage to find the one fielder on the off side? And now walk-walk-double doesn't score a run!!It's like they're inventing ways not to score.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 That was definitely an interference (obstruction, actually) indication but no way was Cespedes going to score without it so he wasn't going to be awarded home. What I was worried about is that he was going to pull the idiot move of assuming he was going to be awarded the base and get tagged out as he loafed between 3rd & home. That came up in a (non-NYM) post-season game a few years back but I forget the specific actors. That's also at least the second time this season that G, K, & R seem confused as to how that rule works.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Yeah, let's issue a few more free passes, nothing bad ever comes from that.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 How come you never see a team, when the infield fly rule is called, intentionally drop it to see if any of the runners panic and try to advance? It's probably been tried, but I haven't seen it in a while. Does one's manhood compel one to prove he can catch the ball?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 They get extra base hits with runners on, we get Sac Flies (if we're lucky) so as to keep our one run at a time limit in effect.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Amazon is working on a Robo-Ump prototype.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 I had forgotten Smokey was even active on the roster.Meanwhile, Travis d'Arnaud is breaking the boxscore on my mlb.tv broadcast.[fimg=700:2lim9gzf]https://metsinpeace.files.wordpress.com/2017/08/screen-shot-2017-08-16-at-9-45-16-pm.png[/fimg:2lim9gzf]

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 What a shlub of an umping job tonight.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Author Posted August 17, 2017 Yep umpiring has been bad. Giving a nice help to the Shitdicks tonight.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Wow, a stranded leadoff hitter. No way to see THAT coming.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 How much are the Mets paying Cespedes this season? I don't think they are getting a fair return on their investment.Come on Conforto. Damn. that took no time. Inning over.I'm really starting to hate baseball.**Or at least this season of baseball.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Well we kept the Judge K streak going at least
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 That ws nice to see, but it doesn't cancel out the bomb he hit earlier in the game.
