Guest 41Forever Guests Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Starting this one a little late, but Conforto hasn't entered the game yet. Some early musings:The salute to the Latino Hall of Famers was nice, with former Mets Pedro and Roberto Alomar in there. Good to see the Clementes.I like the patches with the number of All-Star Games on them. I think Kershaw's 7 is the highest I've seen so far. Sale has 6.Justin Turner looks ridiculous.Mizzou-alum Scherzer tells Wonderboy to grab some pine.Maybe we should have kept Murphy.Still can't get used to the Astros being in the Lesser League.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 And the AL gets the first run when a ball drops between three Nationals.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Well the game is official now that we've had the traditional upcoming FOX show plug with the actors in the prime seats. Now the question is, how quickly after the cameo did the actors abandon those seats and go hit The Clevelander?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 I believe the trivia answer is Tony Perez (extra inning HR in the 1967 ASG)
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Conforto sighting! For the first time since 2015, a Mets player is appearing in the game! (Yes, Terry, I'm still pissed about last year.)
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 I still dislike Molina. But he does have his moments.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Nah, still hate him. That's a stupid neck tattoo, too.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Joe Buck talking about the new, not-counting game having intensity -- moments after Cano stopped to take a photo with Joe West.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 I particularly like how he couldn't be bothered to ask Brad Mills if he ever considered that what fans really want is to see the best players for the whole game instead of the parade of substitutions.Still don't understand why it is some article of faith that everyone wants that.

Gives everyone their minute in the sun.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 The AL is out of position players -- and it's only the seventh inning.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Hopefully he stays in the game and pulls a Mazzilli his next time up.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Goofball Dodgers balking in the All-Star Game. Let's get a walk-off win!
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Lead off walk! Kimbrel is auditioning for our bully.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Would be great to pinch run with the winning run on first...oh, wait, the stupid substitutions preclude strategy late in the game when it matters most. Idiots.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 I hear a Let's Go Mets chant there.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 This season keeps finding new ways to suck.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 You can hear the pain in Joe Buck's voice that Yadier might not be the MVP
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 It's like they never learn. All lefties to face Miller. No pinch runner for Molina. Managerial malpractice by Maddon by doing all of those stupid substitutions.
