Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 I like that Baltimore's Chris Davis has CRUSH on his uni for the weekend while Oakland's Khris Davis is going with KRUSH
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 My 9 y.o. loves Players Weekend, so, congratulations MLB, you've finally done something to appeal to kids. Now about those postseason start times...
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 I hadn't noticed until just now that the coaches and managers were doing this too. I see "Dusty" and "K-Long". Is Terry just "Terry"?

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Terry could also have used "DEAD MAN WALKING" but that's a lot of letters. At Friday's game, there was no visual evidence of who the Mets were (the is different from the many games where they don't show up) as the announcements and the scoreboards used the nicknames. (For the WSH players, one of the boards briefly displayed their given names.) You had to decipher "JUNIOR" and "PAUL" on your own. On Saturday, the announcer said their real names but if you missed it you didn't know. That's why the woman in front of me with the red Mets cap and lots of tattoos yelled "who the fuck is Black Bear?"
