Conforto ain't going back to Vegas any time soon.

It's up to him at this point to not only make himself indispensable to the roster but also to the starting lineup.
Make it so that someone has to take a spot away from you.

I think Cabrera was arguing that it was foul. I believe both you and he may have been correct.

I didn't catch that. Looked a good foot outside from the rear view.

I didn't think it was but no one even questioned it.

Cabrera questioned the home plate about it because it's his call until the ball reaches 1st base (which it never did) and those calls aren't reviewable.

Because it ended an inning, we got no analysis. It's not reviewable but it should have been discussed. The ESPN crew would rather discuss their fantasy teams.
Also no analysis of strike 3 to Granderson.

Wheeler gets through 6 IP at less than 100 pitches thrown. Nice to see progress there, especially after the first inning doodie fest.

92 thru 6 so this is almost certainly his last inning even if he goes 1-2-3
Unfortunately, Scherzer's on an even better pitch count - 78

The ESPN booth talks virtually non-stop, unfortunately very little of it concerns the actual game being played.

I'm happy with Wheeler's outing. Nice to see him get a little deeper into the game.

Overall, an encouraging start by Wheeler.

Overall, a very GOOD start. He made one or two mistakes, and they weren't even big ones; he just happened to get punished for one of 'em.

That Smoker pitch just got punished.

I'm just amazed it wasn't Insurance Person putting the nail in the coffin.

But like in Friday's game it was an opposite field hit by Harper off Smokie that set it all up. The guy is really good and his team is otherwise hot, we couldn't have caught them at a worse time.

Forget "hot." His team is "good."

So when, yeah, you're letting guys like Lobaton tag mistakes over the wall, and walking the Rendons of the lineup in pressure situations... it won't end up well.

Looking for as many positives as possible; that was a nice inning by Familia.

Yes, it's a ballgame, and yes, it's irritating that it's a 10-straight-minute stint in the middle of the ninth... but Shulman bringing up Bumgarner's dumb dirt bike decision, then holding Boone's feet to the fire-- following a harsh-but-fair critique of Bumgarner-- about his own contract-violating off-field injury with the MFYs made for pretty compelling TV.

Bunt. Take pitches.

Or, alternatively, hit. That'll work, too.

Why even bring IN Ollie for a LOOGY thing with a three-run lead?

Short cameo appearance by Oliver Perez. Dusty does know that Walkers a better hitter with most of his HRs coming from the left side? Apparently not. Either that or he knows what he has in Perez.

Walker is, like, allergic to low, down-the-middle fastballs with two strikes? It's a problem, lately. He just refuses to touch them.

Cespedes in the on-deck circle, going Willis Reed on us here?
