Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 Forgetful fish from 2003's Finding Nemo remembers her family, and sets off on a quest to find them, bringing her and her southern hemisphere friends Marlon and Nemo all the way to California.Score by Thomas Newman.[fimg=550]http://cdn.collider.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/finding-dory-poster.jpg[/fimg]
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 oh look, one I've actually seen.I need to watch this a few dozen more times to really get the full effect, but I thought it was fine. a little less good than Nemo, but maybe I'll pick up on all the subtle jokes that Nemo had once I watch it more. Wanted more tank fish.It was a little more bumbling comedy than quest though. "they're over here! *goes there* no, now they're over there were you just were!"

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 While Thomas Newman is pretty great, the Newman family of film composers is about the most dynastic Hollywood family going.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 2, 2017 Author Posted March 2, 2017 Notice how Joey takes his mother's last name rather than his father's. He knows the Newman brand is his meal ticket.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2017 Posted March 2, 2017 You really could make a meal from the Newman brand.
RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 BTW, Alfred Newman was the inspiration if the name "Alfred E. Neumann" ( though not the appearance)
Guest cooby Guests Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Randy sang "You've got a Friend in Me" Fogot about it until I saw Toy Story the other day.Didn't he sing "Mr President?" I get him confused with the Lovin Spoonful guy
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 This thread is better than the movie IIRC . Watched it in Ireland with Lorcan and two Aussie kids, none of them were impressed with the movie
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 13, 2017 Author Posted March 13, 2017 Most good Pixar (most good animated) movies have themes for parents as much as for kidzz. This one was more the former, as the parents cheerfully work through with their daughter through their worry, trying to help her find adaptations for her memory issues.Baby Dory was adoryble.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 I watched this recently. Thought it was solid and entertaining but not as great as it's predecessor. I liked that there was good representation of various characters with disabilities getting things done without the usual melodramatic film cliches of disabled people (or sea creatures, as is the case).
Guest cooby Guests Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Rented this On Demand Saturday night for my granddaughter and me. $23!!!!!!!It was pretty sweet though and Ellen is worth the moneyCute movie; can't remember Finding Nemo, though I know I saw it...all these generations of kids Any movie featuring an octopus (septopus!) driving a truck is a good one. And Ellen!
