HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Tomlin pitched well in a tough atmosphere. Miller on bottom 5 and he gets the final out.

I've read good things about this kid but I have no idea what or how he was doing. Heyward was blocking him? Oy.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Author Posted October 29, 2016 Well, considering that they just signed Heyward to a 95 year contract last winter (well, eight years anyway) it's not like blocking Soler, or at worst playing alongside him, wasn't part of the plan.Heyward's just been so awful in this first year that it's 'Plan B' time.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Bunting. Bunting ahead of your worst hitting position player and your pitcher.FIRE TERRY!!!!

Still 0-0 Cubs but Indians threatening. Runner @2nd, 1 out. Rajai Davis.....

That was a freaking good bunt tho. Getting his bat on that ball was tricky.WP! Runner goes to 3rd. And Rajai walks.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 I don't think there's enough to reverse that.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Author Posted October 29, 2016 Chad Ochoseis wrote:Bunting. Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Coco Crisp, fortified with 9 essential vitamins and one big RBI.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Author Posted October 29, 2016 And a crisply delivered single (see what I did there?) breaks the scoreless tie ... but the seriously, I just used a racist word when I really meant "Guardians" get another runner thrown out on the base paths ... and they almost had another just before that.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 And that slide by Davis was extra special.[fimg=500:32o4aupt]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cv5vwqaWgAAMBU9.jpg:large[/fimg:32o4aupt]
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 The Indians are quickly running out of bench. If this goes into extras, they're screwed.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 This is an excellent game so far. 1-0 Indians with the wind blowing out at Wrigley. AND BLOWING OVER!Soler with a TRIBOOM!& he wasn't running hard to 1st. Fuck.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Chisenhall is like bad in right field
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 That's a tough right field to play. But, no, Chisenhall isn't an asset out there.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 And he's stranded. That might be it.
Guest 86-Dreamer Guests Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 With two outs - why pinch run Heyward there? seems like an unecessary waste of a bench option and a lessor hitter substituted for a good one
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Author Posted October 29, 2016 Cubs have lost four games in this year's post-season ... and they've been shutout in all four of them. SFG = 1, LAD = 2x, CLE = 1

HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) I'll say it again Hirschbeck is killing me. The 2-1 t Russell was right down the pipe Edited October 29, 2016 by Guest
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Author Posted October 29, 2016 Butvthey are losingYou're free to disagree with the move, I'm just saying what Maddon's reasoning is on the deal.Plus, now that Miller is gone, if Heyward does have to bat it won't be against the nasty lefty thus negating at least some of the diminished offense part of the equation.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Schwarber going kaboom would be storybook shit.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Well, at least he hit it over the pitcher.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 A double switch? The Indians are out of position players, I think.
