MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 A remake was shown on FOX last night. For some reason (legal restrictions?) the title of the show was:The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Let's Do the Time Warp AgainI had a few problems with the production. The biggest was I couldn't hear the sound well. It wasn't that it wasn't loud enough, but I couldn't hear some of the lyrics clearly.Another problem was the director used too many close-ups, losing the fun of the goings-on at the fringes of the stage or in the background. The third problem was some actors trying to speak with a British accent who couldn't.That said, it was good to hear the songs and see the dances again, the acting was appropriately over the top, and the sets were fun. Tim Curry was there, but as the narrator. But then, when it ended at 10PM Eastern Time, the original movie was shown on the LOGO network. And when I saw it I remembered how much better the original film was.I'm not going to post a poll, but would be interested in your comments.Later
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 i'm a big fan of the show, but i heard this was dreadful, so i passed on it. The last Broadway revival was about 10 years ago, with Raul Esparza as Riff Raff and Dick Cavett as the narrator. It was really good.
