Avoid this game at all costs.Tuesday, 10/4American League Wild Card GameWednesday, 10/5National League Wild Card GameSyndergaard would be on full four days of rest.**********************************************Main takeaways:If the Mets avoid a play-in game, they are on a schedule to have Syndergaard ready on regular rest for the Wild Card game. If they avoid a play-in game. Two more turns for the maybe-Matz/maybe-Ynoa/maybe-Tebow spot in the rotation. The Mets seem to avoid Fernandez on the series in Miami, but if the Marlins are hanging around in the race, they could certainly juggle the rotation. They have a questionable back end that they'd want to avoid if they can.If you are heading to Philadelphia and hope to participate in the giveaways, for the love of all that is holy, make sure you have a "Theme-Night ticket."
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Nice work, can't believe how fast this has gone. Mets should make hay with this sked
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 19, 2016 Author Posted September 19, 2016 Of course, if that potential rainout happens tonight, all this we-got-Syndergaard-lined-up bidness goes back to the drawing board.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 What are the odds that the rest of the Mets starts go down precisely as projected in the top post? I'd set those odds at extremely unlikely, given the untestedness of most of the projected starters and Matz's present state of flux.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 19, 2016 Author Posted September 19, 2016 A rainout tonight, a wife goes into labor, somebody wakes up with pink eye, and it all goes to shit. And so I conclude with the main takeaways. The whole bit relies, of course, on speculation. Informed speculation, but speculation nonetheless.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Looks like they'll get this one in tonight. It'll be damp but doable.
