Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 This offseason, the Mets need to get a catcher. d'Arnaud just sucks.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Why does Mattingly always seem to get replay reviews that are initiated by the umps so that, even if he loses, that he continually gets more later in the game?I was just thinking the same thing: he'll talk the umpires into looking into a play before the game is over.He may not even have to talk them into one because it's not clear whether this one gets charged against him or not. It seemed like it should have been but, if so, why the 20 minute conference first?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 "Far be it for me to CHALLLENGE your call, gentlemen. I'd just like to respectfully suggest you gather, confer, and review your work. You know, as a matter of best practices."Typical Mattingly.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Totally against quitting on d'Arnaud.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 lol. A lot of "dealing" going on. The kids great!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Not bad, Aronstein. Not so good, Mets.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 The kid was great. Didn't even get flustered when Gary kept asking him questions.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 You hear him at the end? "Actually, I do want to trade places with you (to Gary). You can go watch the game with my family." lmaooooo
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Nice job by the kid! When they finally figure out how to make replay work properly, I hopeit's referred to at least in part as The Mattingly Rule. Donnie Dickhead.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 FFS, the kid was coming with home/road splits.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I kept watching the kid and thinking that this is what Howie Rose must have been like at age 8 - well done!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Fuck Ichiro again. What's he's doin? Just wait for the walk u icehole.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Montero showing the same things he's shown before. Too many frickin' walks.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Fernandez is hilarious. He EXPECTS to hit a home run.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 He's survived through four and his pitch count is up there. Did his job.

Have the bullpen ready, Terry.Well the good news is a one-hitter thru 4The bad news is nearly six innings worth of pitches to get through those four innings. So, yeah, get the bullpen ready.Fernandez is a bit high with his count too (52 thru 3) and, as a result, we've got a game trending as over three hours even though a scoreless tie.Speaking of which, the Cubs & Dodgers somehow managed a 1-0, 8-1/2 inning game on Sunday which took 3:08 ... 2:08 used to be the norm for games like that.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Kid deserves a card.[fimg=300:2alq8mhi]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/8Fo6YMU9S_X9Mj66_iAt6xx0bxdS_6YhtBxc0kw_9rzwmgpve-a0lWOa0PPGhB_nGyo35vqiJ9fPpgnQuFQBmSKZUjXiFw9z731H7mzFBAXLZ9MbpjmrLYD2pvTXQhQvZutCSlbBu8xD1ghizDVVgJMNHFEf-2_1TlWeqFd3_cEESt7umB1q5Kusn-d0gsV62D1W_8xuk6Y3LQRVj9KB4eSo_TbJMmYhH1AxOYTMzAuj8dogPCxcibimk5H1ZjlXI2UP3r0LjrTALuHzta9-xI66IcfqDQ7ErhGeT9F-sZrJRH1DL3EGFg9v6rL93LN3gk9jBjTACA9_Qu8Sdc3nnrG5thJSMK7ofvD3Dqxw4N3bolAmiRWPyjY3pZ062G6BP2twJXgr2zei-6jvk5XA2UfcmdgmIf1MthFTtbpFb8rTshIF5XXG41X_JNgApQDIeMcb8oJCdLYKdluYcXYkbSYu0yam3QzfG9K0xLlaZCmHxER2zLsvfnfSmOay_oc6_NN9Sha-gyekJDZSsRHWI40xcKwQbXSuDWS0dszlw3G6xx13jc1PO32ruKGC71vKoNfgK7srGEAGqtqMcyQPkvAVJIKAqr2O1TDc3HZfTUSK__fSLQ=w510-h706-no[/fimg:2alq8mhi]
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Ooh - I wonder how you can get him a copy of that. It's wonderful!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I want to live like Montero is living tonight.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Scoreless through five... nice job.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Boy, Montero dances between the raindrops to get through five innings somehow.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Yikes. 6 walks! Not complaining tho. Great job Montero.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 The most amazing thing about that GiDP is that Mattingly didn't challenge it. I was sure he'd object to a blade of grass being out of place or something. It's not like him to allow force outs at 1st to stand without closer examination.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Is deGrom coming in to pitch or did he just PH? I was tuned out for a bit.
