G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 The Mets are hot, hot...can they be hot a third consecutive time for the first time since Arizona was a territory? Only Buster Poindexter and Bartolo Colon know, as three in a row are on the table in the dry heat of Phoenix. Opposing the Bart of the desert is Met-killer (based on last week) Robbie Ray.Game time is probably some time that nobody else starts games. Those Diamondbacks sure are exotic.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Gary Cohen described the weather as either walking into warm soup (humidity) or a blast furnace (dry)Good luck on either.Go Go Bar-to-lo

We should all be so subscribed just from watching this team. I think most doctors would consider it a valid reason.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Pitch around Goldschmidt!Dammit!Later
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 They have seen Ray so no mysteries. Big heater.
Guest cooby Guests Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 My nighttime Xanax would have me asleep before it's over. Sounds like a plan though!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Sweet Jesus. That was some mighty bad luck there. Grandy ripped it. I couldn't tell if Reyes had it stolen. We need The Good Big Sexy Colon tonight.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 We didnt pitch around Goldshmidt! AHHHHHHHH. He's the 1st out tho. A very hard out.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Come on, don't roll over for these guys in these lousy uniforms."I have waded through pools of my enemies' blood."
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Hang in there. If we can work this guy, chase him early, the bullpen is completely gassed from their thrashing in Boston.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 "He (Granderson) hasn't bunted in a game in 10 years." --Gary CohenHe bunted for a hit as recently as last week. Possibly against the same team. Possibly against the same guy.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 I don't know how this team hasn't really driven my crazy by now. This 2016 team. We get a guy on 3rd, we get the fly, and it's Colon on 3rd. He can't tag. Oy. 3-1 Blood Sweating UniformsOE: not only that, we get the bases juiced for Bruce, the RBI machine. Well, not in a blue and orange uniform.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Yeah, the Mets should have at least five by now.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Even when he walks, he wants to take his bat to first.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 So this Ray guy (not to be confused with former punter Ray Guy) retired just 7 of the first 14 hitters he faced and now 9 of the first 18 ... and yet still just one run.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 HISTORIC!!![fimg=500:2ro4ee4n]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cp8y2rOWEAA_j_-.jpg[/fimg:2ro4ee4n]OOO, nice slide lil d'! Nice hitting Reyes!4-2 Bloodybacks
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Bartolo's walk was both historical and hysterical.btw, I'm with Gary & Keith, I would have PH'd for him.And Ray has now thrown six innings worth of pitches just to get thru four innings so he's not long for this game either.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Meanwhile, an hour and 40 minutes to get through 3-1/2 innings. Not going to be an early one tonight.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 WE SHOULD YELL TO ASHIE TO MAKE SURE HE DOESN'T FALL ASLEEP!Fuck. We pitched to Goldshite and he rips a triple.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 That desert air does not agree with Colons stuff.5-2 _________<fill in the blank
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 NOW Wilmer gets his hit.In typical NYM 2016 fashion he has two hits - but then K'd in the one AB where the bases were loaded.
