Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Wilmer's got his knock in.And good news, there's one out, so it's not one of those cursed leadoff baserunners.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 This inning is being brought to you by the wheels and glove of Juan Lagares.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 1-for-6 now w/RiSP which brings things to 4 for their last 39 over the last 3-1/2 games. If they were to just hit their normal (near league worst) BA of .238 in those situations it would translate those 4 hits into between 9 and 10. Think those extra 5-6 hits wouldn't make a difference when the last four games, three of which are/were one run games (and the other was two runs)?P.S. in case you hadn't noticed, I'm really started to obsess over this
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 De Aza: Best hitter on the team, other than Rene Rivera
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 You can't stop Rene Rivera, one can only hope to contain him.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 I take back most of what I said earlier about DeAza.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Hate to yank deG but it's the right move by Terry to PH for him and specifically to PH Cespedes. By the same token it's the right move by Walt Weiss to IW him.And I like the move to PR with Matz!!
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 So was he a decoy because they knew he'd get the IBB?

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Force play at home. Of course!
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) I'm not sure it's the right move but I don't have my reflexive "FIRE TERRY!" comment so it's debatable.deGrom is dealing.Familia is not available (so you need the runs but the bullpen is "shorter")Lagares is out of the game so you weaken the defense.and it's Kelly Johnson.Written before Johnson grounds out. Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Not sure I loved PH-ing Johnson for Lagares - even before he grounded out.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 I've seen this movie before and I don't like how it ends.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 BOOOOoooOoooOoooooOoOooooOoOOOOOoOooooOo
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 So Terry took out deGrom and weakened the defense for nothing.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) This isn't an offense, it's a fucking Russian novel. Edited July 28, 2016 by Guest
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Boo. Needed at least a run from that situation.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Well, we may not have scored, but at least we got deGrom, Cspedes, and Lagares out of the game. Am I right, folks? Folks?
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Sometimes, scoring runs for this team seems as difficult as passing a kidney stone.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 In the 8th chapter, someone will get hurt.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 1 for 9 today -- IF 1B (no RBI) FO, K, GO, K, IF PO, GO, K, FO, so only 2 balls out of the infield and both of them shallow flies w/2 outs -- and 5 for the last 42
