1-for-6 now w/RiSP which brings things to 4 for their last 39 over the last 3-1/2 games.

If they were to just hit their normal (near league worst) BA of .238 in those situations it would translate those 4 hits into between 9 and 10. Think those extra 5-6 hits wouldn't make a difference when the last four games, three of which are/were one run games (and the other was two runs)?

If they IW him then he gets to rest his leg, and if they don't then he's in the best PH situation the Mets are likely to get this afternoon

deGrom is dealing.
Familia is not available (so you need the runs but the bullpen is "shorter")
Lagares is out of the game so you weaken the defense.
