Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 High stakes pitching matchup.I think we need some Jos Reyes activity today.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Well, he certainly needs to hustle more than he did in his first AB/out.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 I've never seen a left fielder eaten up by a grounder.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Tonight's HP ump Ted Barrett is a big boy -- he seems to be at least 2 inches bigger than Fernandez who's listed a 6' 3" and closer in stature to that of Stanton's 6' 6" -- and, even though will turn 51 y/o next week, still looks like he could be one tough Mofo in a scrap. He captained his football team at Cal State Hayward where he earned a degree in Kinesiology. He was also an amateur boxer who occasionally sparred with some pros including a guy we like to call Evander Holyfield. He now has a Maters and a PhD in Theology and helps to run a Christian Ministry.Edgy MD wrote:I've never seen a left fielder eaten up by a grounder.Welcome to the world of Giancarlo Stanton
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Stanton's gonna break a baseball one of these days.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Reyes popping up on the first pitch. Drag that bunt, man.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Lotsa Mets' fans cheering Yo's game tying (lucky) single!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Um... let me know when that one lands.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Hey, Keith. Stop flattering Mattingly. He couldn't have carried your jock, let alone your gold glove.Hey! A De Aza hit in captivity.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 The one day we actually sorta/kinda hit Fernandez (2 runs ties the most runs we've ever scored against him in now 7 starts) deGrom picks that day to stink it up.The Mets have actually pitched well is all but one game vs Jose F, losing 1-0, 2-1, 2-1 in 20 innings, 4-3, and 4-3 in 15 innings. The only other stinker was a Collin McHugh start where the Mets lose 8-1
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 De Aza's actually gotten on base in 7 of his last 15 PAs
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Mets now 3 of 7 tonight w/RiSP, which sounds kind of good but those 7 ABs have come with a total of 11 runners on 2nd and/or 3rd and only one of those 3 hits actually scored a run. One run. This is either the weirdest sting of bad luck ever or a steak of incompetence which is quite possibly unmatched in ML history.
