Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Wilmer Flores has started at least one game at each infield position this season. This is the 14th time in Mets history that any player has done that. There was a long gap between the first time (Ed Bressoud in 1966) and the second (Jeff McKnight in 1992). Bressoud and Justin Turner (2012) are the only players who have started as many as five games at each position in a single season.PlayerYear 'First BaseSecond BaseThird BaseShortstopEd Bressoud1966582473Jeff McKnight19925811Jeff McKnight199327214Tim Bogar199562913Tim Bogar19962196Joe McEwing200224510John Valentin20021111413Jay Bell200331076Chris Woodward200521323Damion Easley200836013Justin Turner201281058Justin Turner2013941113Kelly Johnson201552211Wilmer Flores201635331
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Surprised Wilmer only has one start at short so far. Also surprised that Tatis didn't pull the trick off.
