Cespedes only appeared in one game as a bench player in April, and only saw one pitch, but he made the most of it, crushing a game-tying three-run homer. It yielded him 3.21 points, which allowed him to easily be the month's leading bench player, finishing ahead of Juan Lagares, who had 0.40 points in games in which he wasn't in the starting lineup. Alejandro De Aza earned 0.35 bench points, Wilmer Flores had 0.21, and Eric Campbell had 0.09.

Jeurys Familia, with his ninth Reliever of the Month award, has left Brian Stokes (remember him?) in the dust.

I'm noticing that participation in May is quite a bit less than it was in April. I get the sense that people may think that once they miss a game that there's no point in continuing. That's really not true! You can vote on recent games even if you've missed a game, or a dozen games, that have already closed.
