Guest cooby Guests Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Well, since his name came up, can somebody tell me how it's pronounced? Every game I watched, they just called him Cespedes.Familia's first name too, please
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Yo-ennis.Familia's first name is another story entirely. Nobody knows for sure. Gary Cohen calls him Jay-or-reese, but that can't be correct. I've heard other pronunciations as well, too many to try to list here. During the 2015 postseason, while being interviewed, Daniel Murphy referred to Familia as "Yoris", which is probably more correct. I'm surprised that nobody has asked him, "Hey, Dude! How do you pronounce your name?" If there are any Twitter users among us (and I know there are) maybe we can contact Familia directly and get him to tell us how to pronounce his name?
