I'd prefer if they sucked meh balls.I have had MLB.TV for years now (many a card was taken from a screen shot), but I was so unaccustomed to postseason baseball I didn't know it was a separate deal to see postseason games. I found out late and so MLB.TV can also munch on my sac. I'm gonna pass on that for now. Might drop the 10 bucks for the WS if there is a good reason to. Gimme a good reason Mets!

I don't use a TV provider, that's why I want to watch games online. And lies don't work!

DVR/rewind.

I share my mlb.tv account with a friend who doesn't have cable (sharing's against the rules; sue me). I can watch the playoffs on TV and he can't, so naturally he wants to see them on (or through) his computer. His solution was to get a trial subscription to Sling TV, which carries the playoff games; the trial is free and lasts a week. Not so good if you want more than a week and have no intention of buying a subscription ($20 a month) after that.

(I mean, probably 50% of the SBNation blog photos are Getty Images) I mean, granted, signing up probably means technically agreeing not to use said images without attribution.

I forgot I could go right to my account. lol. I'll see if I can make that work for me. It's been many a year since I went to the actual site.dinosaur jesus wrote:Edgy MD wrote:MLB.tv tells me I have free access to post-season games and post-season advertisements online as part of the purchase I made to watch regular-season games, but then they make me fill out a form telling them which TV provider I use. Whats the deal w/that?

dinosaur jesus Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I think what's going on is that since these games are on national TV, they'd normally be blacked out on mlb.tv, but mlb.tv and some of the cable companies (who are presumably getting a cut) have worked it out so that can see them. I don't know why Comcast isn't in on that. But if you have XFinity or whatever the equivalent is with other companies, you should be able to watch on your computer anyway, without giving $10 to mlb.tv. I don't really understand any of this, but these are the kind of explanations I give to reassure myself.

Whats the deal w/that?I think this is part of the new blackout rules, but I'm not 100% on that. Some cable companies signed on (I think just Fox/Fox Sports?) to allow in-market streaming, as long as you have a cable account (because they're aware half of their customers would literally bolt if they could stream sports live in market). Since I guess technically TBS/Fox is 'local' you're blacked out unless you have that cable subscription? Comcast is NOT one of the companies that agreed. So since SNY is partly owned by Comcast and Time Warner, no go with Mets games in market, but we'll be able to stream the Fox-owned YES.
