Listening to the Toronto stream on the MLB At Bat app.

Apparently the annoying "croissanwich" ads are forced into all MLB broadcasts.

Does that cost $$?

Yes. I think it was $20 for the season to get Gameday Audio.

thought it was $15? I lose track.

I use it all the time. Anytime I'm not sitting in front of the tv and the Mets are on, which is often.

I can't remember. It gets auto-renewed, and I can't even find where you would sign up for just audio on the MLB website anymore.

Bottom of the ninth. Tie game. Where's Joe Carter when you need him?

Five postseason games so far and they've all ended with the home fans sad.

It costs 3.99 to upgrade the atbat app that gives you access to the audio streams through itunes or android shop.

Game 4 in Texas: 3 Blue Jay Homers and it's 7-0 Toronto in the middle of the third.

It's also R.A. Rickey's first career postseason start.

That makes RA the oldest pitcher to make a post-season debut.
But now, even with a 7-1 lead and 2 outs in the 5th (aka: one out short of qualifying for a win) he's being pulled in favor of David Price. The Jays have evidently decided that Stroman is going to be their Game 5 starter rather than Price, but it still seems like an odd move to me, both in who is relieving and also when.

Waitasecond. They pulled Dickey from the game with two outs in the 5th, a 6-run lead and only one runner on base? To go to David Price?

WTF?

I'm not gonna lie to you, I don't get Gibbons: in game 1 he wouldn't pull price even after he was getting hit hard.

Well, the great David price relief experiment ends with him coughing up 3 runs in 3 ip, which will probably earn him his first career PS win

I know. Crazy, right?

He wound up getting the win, but like Dickey couldn't have done that? What was he, tiring? He's a freakin' knuckleballer fear crissakes.

Gibbo makes Terry look like Casey Stengel

And then this whole saga somehow gets a bit weirder.

Price threw 50 pitches on Monday during a blowout in relief of a guy who didn't seem to need relief [Dickey = 1 run on 5 singles/0 BB over 4.2 IP]. So with the deciding game not until Wednesday you'd figure the Jays would make some statement as to 'well let's see how he feels' concerning Price's possible usage for that game. But no, Gibbons effectively pre-rules him out entirely saying, 48 hours ahead of time, that Price will not be available for that game.

Now of course that sets him up to pitch in Game 1 of the ALCS but you have to get there first and with no idea what kind of situation you'll have in the middle of Game 5 -- Stroman has pitched just 4 games this year after having a major leg injury during ST -- the guy who went 9-1 for you over 11 starts after the deadline deal won't be there to help because you went to him to protect a 6-run lead at a time when your team was sitting on a 97% 'Win Expectancy'.
Does anything say 'We don't want you back next year' louder than this?

Somebody on Mike and Mike this morning suggested that Gibbons preemptively went to Price in relief in game four so he wouldn't have to make a hard choice between starting Price or Stroman--both on full rest--in game 5. If you're into conspiracy theories, that's not a bad one, particularly since Price did not seem to know ahead of time that he might be called on yesterday.

GAME FIVE WEIRDNESS UPDATE:

Tie game in the Ranger seventh, two outs, Odor on third with Choo batting. Russell Martin hits Choo's bat on a throw back to the pitcher-- initially erroneously ruled dead by the ump-- and a hyperalert Odor scampers home with the go-ahead run.

Fans at the Rogers Centre are filling the field with debris in response. Just another black eye for those embarrassing, subhuman New York fa-- wait, this is in Toronto? Never mind.

Crazy play lets Texas take 3-2 lead in 7th. Russell Martin's return throw to mound inadvertently hits Choo bat and rolls away letting runner score from 3rd. Made controversial by the fact that initial call on field was no run. Fans are throwing shit onto the field.

Kudos to Odor for touching home plate even after the ump's initial dead ball call.

Whoa! He dropped it! Ha, I love baseball!

Especially when I don't care about the outcome.

Honestly don't think I've seen that before.
That it's a live ball makes sense but I can see as how the first reaction is to think the opposite. No excuse for the home plate ump not to know that though.

Ugh, how could they even question that slide at home? Gah, what are they doing to my game?!

No excuse for Martin being so careless with a guy on 3rd either.

Wow. Crazy game here. Odor back peddled! Tsk, tsk. Tough chance tho, right over his head.
