(Not lasting longer in the postseason would kind of take the shine off this accomplishment.)
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 It's been 25 years. That sure explains a lot.Fucking Wilpon(s). What a disgrace.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 They can't control years when the Yankees also finish first. The Mets had a better record and finished first in 2006.

Still, wishing the Mets well and the MFYs ill is a 360-degree endeavor.Hats off to Toronto for doing their part.

That 25 year run should never happen. Not in our lifetimes. Not in 10 of our lifetimes. 1990's no coincidence. That's around the time Fred more or less started to run this franchise. How do you make excuses for that?

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Mets have achieved something. Let's not speak of disgrace.

But let's congratulate Fred Wilpon for his second first place finish in almost 30 years. We should all be thankful that he was probably read the riot act and more or less strongarmed into hiring someone like Sandy Alderson who wasn't gonna take any shit at all from Fred's stupid son, or else none of this season would probably be happening.

Don't come.
