Or his Mexican league not considered part of what we call "The minors"? IIRC, there used to be four AAA Leagues, the International, Pacific Coast, American Association and Mexican. Was the Mexican League not co-equal?

That's considered a total for North America record.

The Mexican League was always independent and therefore is probably counted more as a separate league by many rather than as an official 'minor' league.

There was also a stretch in time where they were considered an 'enemy' league for their refusal to play by the reserve clause rules set up by MLB and instead were offering more money to players to jump their US teams. Only when MLB threatened to [u:3ro9mvm3]permanently ban[/u:3ro9mvm3] players who jumped to the Mexican league did they manage to cut off the flow of players over the southern border and maintain their low wages through non-competition system.
