Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Matt Harvey defends against Tim Hudson.Four no-hitters in four years is gluttony, Giants.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 Would-be Giant-slayers Travis d'Arnaud and Dilson Herrera are expected to be activated for the game. I'm no soothsayer, but I foresee Daniel leaving tonight on a plane. Kevin, too.

That's a few days earlier than they had been saying. Edgy MD wrote:I'm no soothsayer, but I foresee Daniel leaving tonight on a plane. Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 San Francisco at NY MetsWhen: 7:10 PM ET, Wednesday, June 10, 2015Where: Citi Field, New York City, New YorkSportsDirect Inc.Although rookie Chris Heston's masterful no-hit performance rightly garnered front-page headlines, Joe Panik pieced together quite the story of his own in the opener of the three-game series versus the New York Mets. Panik, a New York native who played collegiately at St. John's, looks to extend his hitting streak to 14 games as the visiting San Francisco Giants and Mets reconvene at Citi Field on Wednesday.Panik homered among his two hits and Matt Duffy also went deep as San Francisco breezed to its 11th victory in 14 road contests with a 5-0 triumph on Tuesday. Both batters will face a stern test in Wednesday starter Matt Harvey, who looks to prevent New York from tumbling to its sixth setback in eight outings overall and ninth in 10 meetings with San Francisco. Heston's dominating effort obviously handcuffed veteran Michael Cuddyer, who saw his 12-game hitting streak come to a halt. Catcher Travis d'Arnaud is expected to be activated from the disabled list prior to Wednesday's contest after being sidelined with a broken right pinkie since April 20.TV: 7:10 p.m. ET, CSN Bay Area (San Francisco), SNY (New York)PITCHING MATCHUP: Giants RH Tim Hudson (3-5, 4.41 ERA) vs. Mets RH Matt Harvey (6-3, 3.05)Hudson followed up a win with a loss for the third straight time this season, despite allowing two runs on seven hits in as many innings of a 5-2 setback to Pittsburgh on Wednesday. The 39-year-old has fared well versus the Mets in his career, posting a 17-10 mark with a 3.52 ERA - including a 5-2, 3.24 performance in eight tilts at Citi Field. Hudson did not get a decision in his last meeting, yielding three runs on seven hits in five innings.Harvey recorded his first win since May 1 after working around a pair of homers among the six hits he allowed in seven innings of a 6-2 triumph over Arizona on Thursday. The 26-year-old has been taken deep five times in the last three outings, but has struck out at least nine in four of his last five trips to the mound. Harvey owns an 0-1 career mark versus the Giants despite recording a 1.08 WHIP and limiting the club to a .213 batting average.WALK-OFFS:1. San Francisco C Buster Posey recorded three hits in the series opener and is 7-for-19 with three runs scored in his last four games.2. New York RF Curtis Granderson went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts on Tuesday, and is 1-for-10 in his career against Hudson.3. Giants OF Hunter Pence admitted to feeling discomfort in his ailing wrist while swinging off a tee on Tuesday. He has been sidelined for a week with the injury.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I think Dilson won't be here, but Travis will. They are accelerating the latter return because Plawecki in addition to sucking at baseball is having continued issues with vertigo.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Yes, the SNY blogger thing says Dilson won't be activated today.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 I sure hope d'Arnaud is something like ready. Because Plawecki/Recker (along with Campbell) has been the real black hole in the lineup.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I think they mentioned last night that Dilson is traveling to NYC but that his activation won't necessarily be immediate, as opposed to Travis who's going to be put into the lineup ready or not.

I just wanted to hear the calls on the recap but took forever to get there.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Rubin speculated Muno and d'Arnaud back today.Muno and Plawecki to Vegas.and the clock is ticking to bring Matz up.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 You know what would be cool? If Matt Hovvey throws a no-hitter tonight, just to get back at them.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 That's EXACTLY what I'm talking about. REVENGE![fimg=450:1ueuulb1]http://40.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m7nrq9kTkF1rae5vno1_1280.jpg[/fimg:1ueuulb1]

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I like these Duda tweets, but I couldn't locate the account.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 3 hits tonight would bring Duda's total for the past week to right up around 4 ... hate to bust on the guy as he's been terrific all year, but he's picking a bad time to go all a-slumping on us.

Duda is a luddite. You can make up your own and take a screenshot (never download) from here.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Didn't think things could become more embarrassing after yesterday. That's just unbelievable. That was a lead off triple run into a single.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I agree w/the booth. Bad send by Tueff. Grandy out at home on Cuddy's single. Flores ties it with a 2 RBI single right up the middle!2-2 Mets
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I figure it'll take d'Arnaud a few games to get up to speed.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 What's that now, 14 infield hits or 15 for the Giants over the last two games? It's like they practice swinging bunts or something - and then they follow it with balls hit too slowly for GiDPs
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Well done Ruben, Grandpa to third.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Memories of Harvey day. I expected too much.
