The Longest Day of the Year

Really. I hate this day. It's better after a win, because at least we get to re-live yesterday's glory rather stew on a painful loss, but it still sucks.

I know the economic reasons for setting up the season this way, but when we take over these lands and I get annointed king, my first act will be to eliminate this day.

That should be your second act. Your first act should be to anoint Opening day as a national holiday.

It's nice after Easter too. Let's just make Easter the first Sunday in April, Opening Day the day off for all the next day. (I know Easter isn't a "national holiday" whatever. )

This is absolutely right. Opening Day is a national holiday. All start times are 1 p.m., and no rain allowed anywhere.

It would be part of my Expansion of National Holidays Edict. Additional holidays:

*Opening Day. Self explanatory.
*The All-Star Break. Everyone gets three days off mid-summer. Hey, you are all All-Stars in my book. You deserve it!
*The first two days of the NCAA tournament. I am still taking suggestions on a catchy name for these two days.
*Hangover Monday. The day after the Super Bowl
