Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 And Matt Reynolds trying to show Terry (read: Sandy) that he's the better choice to make the squad over Tejada -- not that Ruben's having a bad ST, but MR is up to .378/.400/.595 (yeah, I know, ST + SSS)
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I think this point has been made elsewhere on the Forum, but the fact that he's more or less a duplicative version of whom he'd be spelling (contact-heavy, walk-light, middling power, iffy glove and range) probably weighs against scrappy Matty's OD roster spot being a Reynolds wrap.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I think so too, but it's not like Ruben is the ideal backup either. Ideally Wilmer's backup would be a speedy, glove-first, slappy-hitting lefty, but I didn't see any of those on the shelves last time I was at the store. So I suspect Ruben breaks camp as the #2 SS. Doesn't mean he'll be there all year though.
