Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Hey, man, check me out. I'm only 1-10 this spring, but last spring I went 2-4. YEAH! That's what I do. I hit. I hit for high averages and that's a rare thing in a catcher.[fimg=500:2xlvic8x]http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.1703936.1393522944!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/gallery_1200/kevin-plawecki.jpg[/fimg:2xlvic8x]I know they're looking to farm me out. Tell me to "round out my game." Whatever. And yeah, I don't cut a fine figure in my underwear like Recker and Monell do. But I will be back, and I will be hungry. So when do you think I'll arrive? And what do you think I'll do?
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 He may already be a better defensive catcher than Travis. But "round out his game" may mean playing some games at first base. He can hit.I expect him to spend at least part of the season with the big club, producing a slash line of .278/ .331/ .355.Later
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 One of them ends up at first base.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I think this kid has a good chance of getting traded at some point, at least if the right deal comes along.Figure he'll be in Vegas and turn out fine if not quite as good as we'll be getting with dArnaud. People who listed to Wally Backman speak that the Queens Baseball thingy got the impression he saw a more limited future for Plawecki than many may have hoped for. That makes sense not because I know dick about this guy, it's that, Josh Thole was a real nice hitter in Class AA too.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 He'll stay in Vegas unless Travis d'Arnaud is either injured or traded.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Probably will fall off the radar... won't even get a 'memory of' thread here...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I suspect one of the Plawecki/d'Arnaud duo gets dealt at some point in the future - although probably not this year.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 13, 2015 Author Posted March 13, 2015 A lot of veins will be opened if he gets dealt, won't they.

They're concerned about TDA's injury history and concussions. I don't think they let K'Pla! go so easily. He'll come up in June/July, replace Dreamyface, and hit okay in a backup role- .260/3/25.
