Once upon a time, when leading publications were thrilled about guys with on-base tools, Pat the Bat Burrell and Nick the Stick Johnson were everybody's favorite prospects. O, they broke into Burrell and Johnson camps. But those were the dudes to pick from.

Well, nobody's got an on-base tool like I do, but still I'm viewed as somewhat suspect. Seen as having perhaps TOO much patience. As if.

Give me half a chance, and I think I'll make baseballs sorry they were ever pitched. What do you think my 2015 will look like?

Hopefully very good. Look, he could stop evolving now for all I know. But something happened last year and he started to really look like a dangerous baseball player. No. 3 hitter type.

I predict the doubles and HRs continue at a pace simnilar to last year's only at AAA, until it's too late to hold him back and more and he gets a September preview during which he hits just 234, but OBPs at 330 and whallops 2 HRs: Just enough to make next offseason even longer than this one, if you can believe that.

It'll be interesting certainly to see if he opens at Vegas or Bingo. I guess whether or not Castellanos is injured kind of speaks to that.

If the MLB outfield is

Granderson
Mayberry
Nieuwenhuis

then the AAA outfield is

Puello
den Dekker
Castellanos
Lawley
Vaughn

I could easily see him sneaking into those back five out of camp even if Castellanos is healthy.

I agree with that, unless Granderson or Cuddyer (or perhaps Duda) suffers one of those 60-day injuries.

He'll impress in September.

The drawback we've heard about him, virtually since the moment he appeared as a pro, was that he lacked the power you'd like to see from a corner OF but also doubted his speed/instincts/arm to play CF and so would ultimately wind up as a "tweener". But the strength/power increase last year might eventually put those fears at least partially to rest - and in an era of low offense and shifts, an all-fields/high-OBP guy could really shine.

He has all the tools and lots of potential. But, I think he'll be kept at AA or AAA this year until he realizes that potential against all types of pitching.

With the Mets' talent surpluses appearing to be on the pitching side of the ball, if they're going to do a consolidation trade featuring a top hitting prospect, they had better be getting Ty Cobb back.

And a nice Ty Cobb too. One who goes to fundraisers and has racially progressive values.
