MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Did Parker wear the helmet to protect himself from the batteries that fans threw at him?Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Parker wore it because he came out on the wrong side of a collision with John Stearns.Valentine wore the mask at least part of his tenure with the Mets, but photographic evidence does not abound.
