Guest cooby Guests Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Good lord Edgy I was in first grade. I don't think there are picsMine was yellow and white and I wore it as a jumper of course. White boots, sigh. I was such a fashion hound. Once a week that is.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 So I just looked at the Twitter page and there was a notificationwith a link to this thread. If you post *at sign* with something anywhere on the internet Twitter finds it?
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Am I blackballed from Twitter discussion?

Guest cooby Guests Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 What is RSS? I have heard of that.Aren't constant tweets annoying? I have always wondered that...
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 To answer Kase's question, yes, any time you @ someone, Twitter finds it.And yes, every time a new thread is posted here, the CPF account tweets it. I didn't set it up; I'd actually rather that not happen, because auto-tweets are dangerous.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Do we need to reel in some setting? I'm embarrassingly cluelessabout Twitter, and my generally finding it annoying that it's gottenso popular doesn't help me move forward on the learning curve.

It's fine for each thread to get a tweet, that's sorta the point. Of course, without an actual social media presence (i.e. non-thread tweets) very few people actually follow or see the threads to be enticed to jump in and post so..It's not a setting within the forum, someone set it up, i'm just blanking on who.cooby wrote:What is RSS? I have heard of that.Aren't constant tweets annoying? I have always wondered that...RSS means Really Simple Syndication. It's basically just a stream of text that other places can read. You can think of it just like reagular tv syndication. Every post/thread here goes into an XML document and RSS feed readers can interpret that into posts and content. Our twitter feed reads that ,and every time it sees a new thread it creates a tweet out of it.Twitter is about constant tweets. Think about it like the office gossip around a water cooler, except you get to choose who's there and if it gets too loud/spammy you can kick people out or simply walk away and close Twitter.
