Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Gary mentioned Herrera being the first Met from Columbia but forgot about Frank Seminara.I wouldn't think that Gary, a Columbia man himself, would miss that.
Guest Trachsel My Tears Guests Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Dekman is throwing so far outside, it looks like it's going to get away.
Guest Trachsel My Tears Guests Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 AAAAaand he walks him. Bases loaded. It's up to Lagares to get deGrom a W.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 When did the Phillies sign Luis Castillo?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Geeez, with two outs all the Phils had to do was tag out Lagares there!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Raise your hands if you were pissed the Mets didn't get Sizemo'.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Nice to see a three-run [u:29eog36j]no hit[/u:29eog36j] inning go in our favor instead of the other way -- 2 walks, a HBP, an error, and a double-steal
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Holy crap. First steal of home since Jason F. Pridie.

Guest Trachsel My Tears Guests Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Wright looks positively sick tonight, and not in a good way.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Trying to follow along on GameDay. Was it a straight steal of home? Or a botched bunt or something?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Double steal. Runner broke for second, catcher threw down, and Campbell broke for home.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 How 'bout we NOT bring the tying run up to bat?
Guest Trachsel My Tears Guests Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Am I the only who hears "Asche for the Phillies" and thinks "Richie Ashburn is playing for the Phils again"?
Guest Trachsel My Tears Guests Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 "And foul ball, Asche stays alive"NO--he Ks and the Wets min!

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Hey, kids... GUESS WHO'S NOT IN LAST PLACE!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 A day, nothin'! That's the bonus. It will last AT LEAST TWO DAYS!
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Back to the 4 hit game, but who cares?Out of last place.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Hey, wait, let's be clear here. They're not "out of" last place because they weren't in it. Not much, but it counts.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Thoughts on the Game!!!!11. d'Arnaud probably had the two most impressive strikes of the game, in his first two trips, but I don't recall now if he reached on either. Super, solid, ringing contact. THWACK.2. Doodoo didn't hit anything squarely.3. Sketchy work contact of Wifey secured luxury deck just to the third base side of home, and we wound up there. Great view and nice night to be there. Shake Shack delivered. Kinda gross.4. Dilson looked OK. Results weren't there, but fast hands, nice build on a little guy.5. Thought for sure inning was over on first throw of steal. Have to see replay but seemed like a dumb idea to throw home then.6. Also thought denDekker had a relatively easy peg at home if wanted it but just a bad throw.7. OTOH, his walk was key to the rally, not that the pitches were difficult not hack at, but he hasn't really impressed me yet. Good steal of 2nd I suppose, very safe.8. First time seeing deGrom throw and good views of it. Really pops the mitt. Phils helped him out of course, Ruiz in particular.9. Something!! No glove no love!!10. Something!!
