Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 There's something beautiful when a great centerfielder chases a ball hit over his head. Because of his speed, and because of the distinctive wind resistance a drive to center can have on it, by the time he catches up with the ball, they are almost at more or less the same speed, and therefore no speed at all, relative to one another. When that happens, the catch is as gentle and natural is reaching out to pick a daisy, or pull a book of poetry off the shelf. It's sublime.
