Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 deGrom gets over on the Mariners tonight and he may pitch his way into the Rookie of the Year conversation, which had been looking like a one-man party for Sliding Billy Hamilton.

That knocks two guys off of our five-man bench, and the DH knocks a third down. We don't need to pinch-hit for any pitchers, but we're left with Campbell and Recker.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I don't know how I missed it, but I didn't realize deGrom was 26. For some reason I thought he was much younger.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I would have guessed younger, but looks like he wentto school for a full four years before drafted.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2014 Author Posted July 22, 2014 Nice to see an athlete put his education first...

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Niiiice. I love cheap RBI bloop singles.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 deGrom seems to have settled down. Get that man more runs!

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Good trivia question on SNY:Who are the only 3 players to play in 200 games each for the Mariners and the Mets?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Olerud would be one. The easy one I guess.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Ricky didn't play that many games with Seattle, did he?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I had Mike Cameron and Olerud. Steve Henderson was the tough one. Endy needs about 10 more games with Seattle .
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 We may need another shortstop after all.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Gwreck wrote:I had Mike Cameron and Olerud. Steve Henderson was the tough one. Endy needs about 10 more games with Seattle .Oh yea, Cameron.Muffy with the cheap hit. I like.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Awful execution by Muff on the relay likely to tie the game.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Thankfully EY's good karma counteracted the Muffy muffing.
