Based on the Twins batting helmet design of 35 or so years ago, which I had no idea was that iconic. Pretty sure it's an homage to selling more stuff.

When our team tries a nu marketing initiative, we KNOW that every other team is doing the same thing. So not only is collective marketing making your team less likely to zag when their rival is zigging, but it's never been so plainly obvious how lockstep their zigging march is.
