What's Duda got to do with things? He's the only guy in that inning who DIDN'T make an error!

IMO it would help if he knew the proper way to stretch. He actually made that play look worse. And played correctly he could have gotten that call.

Except he never even touched the ball in that whole inning.
There were five ground balls hit but none of them were thrown to him. Hell, most of them weren't thrown to anyone

on edit: yeah there was that pointless relay throw - but the runner was about nine feet past the bag by the time the ball got there.

I think they're talking about the ball Campbell muffed. That was thrown to him. The DP ball was thrown to him also.

Yea it was the Campbell play. I consider that crucial, but I should probably look at a replay before I say things like that.

I looked. It wasn't as apparent. But I'll stand by the observation. And I know there were 3 errors in the inning, thankyouverymuch.

It has been said that the difference between the AAAA-ers and MLB-ers is that the former do things right 90% of the time and the latter 99% of the time.

That eighth inning was a AAAA inning.

It's just always something with these guys.

The offense isn;t good enough to support crappy baserunning, bad hands, shaky relief pitching, poor managerial decisions, any amount of bad luck etc etc etc

AAAA?
That 8th inning would have needed six fewer screw-ups just to get it up to the level of Single-A

Well, I didn't mean to suggest that that inning, and the concentration of errors, is characteristic of high minor league play, only that those errors weren't characteristic of major leaguers --- who one would espect to show more grace under pressure.

Maybe they need another vet or two. Some dick like Jayson Werth or somebody. Someone who comes in like Keith Hernandez or Donn Clendenon who sets a higher standard, so that when the bouncer comes back to Familia, he calmly knows what to do with it rather than panicking and spiking it, because he's practiced the play a thousand times before.

Maybe it's just the coaching. Maybe a guy with more of a history as a disciplined and skilled fielder than Tim Teufel should be working with them.

Maybe I have no clue.
