Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 I get the Times delivered at home, and on Saturday I can actually relax and read the whole thing. So imagine my surprise this morning when I open up the SportsSaturday section and find that there is NO ARTICLE ABOUT THE METS. Nada. Zip.There are two articles about the Yanks, not bad considering that their game started too late to be in the morning edition. The Mets started late, too, but damn. A retrospective of St. Jeter and his wonderful Oakland moments? Check. A story about Joe DiMaggio and Frank Sinatra's tortured relationship? Check. But a Mets win, which should be front-page news because they're so rare? Sorry. Had to squeeze in six pieces about some guys kicking soccer balls around somewhere.Sucks rooting for the third team in a two-team city at times.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Once the rain delay hit an hour, the Mets win was NEVER going to be in the paper. They didn't have the Rangers result in there, did they?

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 If you can't get a game story in, you get a lightweight feature holding its place until the game story is ready. This is the way of things. But otherwise, it's all right. It's O.K. You may look the other way. We can try to understand the New York Times' effect on man.

At least there's nowhere else to really read about all the stuff that happens from 10pm up through the next morning.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Solution: don't read the Times sports section. Go to The Post's or News' website and print out the Mets stuff. They write about us every day.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 For instance, they wrote about KC and his neighbor problems on Thursday. And last weekend, they had a big spread on the marathon twins.

In the Post recap they listed Hillary Clinton as the losing pitcher, while in the Daily News the loss was blamed on an influx of money to the Padres from the Koch brothers.
