Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 UTLEY!No tag/a quick snag by den Dekker keep the Phils to one run in the frame.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Aumont's warming in the pen.He faced his sorta-trademate* Of-Arnaud this series once or twice, right?OE1: I conflate. Aumont came in the Lee-to-the-M's trade; Arnaud went in the Halladay trade.OE2: Yes, he did. TDA worked the walk that led to Duda's gamewinning PH HR yesterday.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Work that plate, big man.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Bryd sucks. Utley's old and he sucks. Byrd don't suck as bad- gets the force @2nd.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Are we allowed to be in the bottom of the 8th in under 2-1/2 hours or does that break some rule?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Eveland's mug has such a shnooky-palooka look to it. His performance? Not nearly.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Eveland didn't suck. Hope he and Carlyle can keep it up. While they are here, anyway. That would be nice.Wassup w/Gee? Still hasn't had a re-hab start?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Next best thing to a Colon bases-loaded AB. A Grandy.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Oh, so THIS is what a laugher looks like. Been so long since I've seen one I forgot what one was like.P.S. Just when it looked for a moment that we were getting a sub-3 Hour game ....
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 The Phillies are awful, but 4 of 5 at anyone's ballpark is impressive. The Phils may not recover from this last-placening we've smacked them with.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Just when I was about to start critiquing Flores's swing too.You can see his bat-on-ball skillz but I was about to say how he looks like he's feeling for the ball too often, that even a sizable chunk of the hits he is getting are softies somewhere that are just falling in or sneaking through. Then he goes and dumps one 15 rows deep on a swing that wasn't all that violent and you see what others saw in him all this time. How much power he would develop was always in question but not that there was power potential there.

They had a five-game sweep within reach too, but best not to get too greedy, as the Phils had two of those Met wins within easy reach too.Anybody want to speculate where this falls among the top wins on the season? Colon getting some momentum. den Dekker showing his game in all its glory. Flores untracked. A lot to build on. Even the two walks by d'Arnaud are good for something.

Big in a number of ways. Two being cahnfidence (esp the pen) and momentum. They know this Phils team is lacking and the Cubs coming up are worse. Take advantage of these games. And then, hopefully, play better against the better teams. The way this team has been jelling lately, I think they can compete if they keep it up. If all injuries are temp I think we are in good shape. This game wise. Also big. This fourth win was a slap in the Phillies phace and might be the blow that buries em for good. We'll see.
