Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Not 4 Nothing, but Flores looks great at the plate. He looks like he lost some baby fat from last year.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I could justify Recker bunting prior to the wild pitch (didn't LIKE it, but could justify it) but was totally against him trying to bunt Wilmer to 3rd.We scored that inning despite the strategy, not because of it.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Crazy game. Will probably go 16 innings.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Campbell looking for extra sips of Schaef!

With a pull-hitting whiffer like Recker, I like it a little more. And then I saw his form, and liked it much less.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Dunno. Maybe Teufel cued him.But Lucas is even bolder.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Very surprising that Ethier is not batting here for Van Slyke.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Can we play "Guess who's car?"(I don't know the answer)It has Florida plates.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Also, not sure what this is about.

Ex-underwear-model neurosurgeons who can cook don't make finer catches.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 That has to be Valverde's, doesn't it? (Though I could see Colon owning that bit of nastiness, it seems like it wouldn't be... a, um, comfy fit.)

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 After the weird infield-fly double play, as SNY was going to a commercial, they showed a clip of Daniel Murphy shouting to Flores. You can easily read his lips: "Tag him! Tag him! Tag him! Tag him!"Reminded me of my days coaching my daughter's softball team. "Step on the base! Step on the base!" Meanwhile the kid is looking at you dumbfounded, as if you're shouting "Split the atom! Split the atom!"
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 yeah Valverde sounds like a good pick. I d'Arnaud if dunno is making the cash to splurge on something like that yet, but it's certainly possible it's another exec or something. I presume they can park in there too.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I thought I noted the catch. I probably did in another thread on accident. The astounding part to me was the high-speed awareness to tuck the glove under just so, so as to neither lose the ball nor break the wrist.

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Was on the Bridge for that catch which was a great perspective because the ball was hit right at me and I could see both outfielders. As it was arcing down I definitely thought "yes! he's too far away!" and then suddenly he had it.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Other takeaway from that play was that if Flores keeps doing that Tejada's never going to start again.
