On May 24, the Akron Aeros will be hosting a Devo Bobblehead Night. Come early, as supplies are limited, with Devo bobbleheads going to the first 1,000 patrons through the turnstiles.

Mark Mothersbaugh will be in attendance, with a significant outlay from each ticket going to the family of late-Devo member Bob Casale.

I like that the band's image was sort of cloney, so you don't really have to distinguish which Devo guy that is.

Anyhow, it's part of a series of four Akron-themed "Rock 'n' Bobble" giveaways that the Rubber Ducks are staging this season, to be followed later in the season by Akron legends Joe Walsh (James Gang), Chrissie Hynde (Pretenders) and the Black Keys. Not a bad legacy for a boring, boring town. I bet Pere Ubu is PISSED to be left out, though.

Note that the team is now the Rubber Ducks, and no longer the Aeros. When did that happen? It would be cool if the players wore caps and helmets designed in the style of the energy hats, but that may be a bridge too far.

If that photo represents the design accurately, it looks like the head doesn't bobble, but the hat.

They were real people with names?
I thought they were a Beta test for CGI before we even knew what that was.
