. . .that is, if they stay at or slightly above .500 for, say, the next month or so, then I think that Hanrahan and Drew will be on the roster before the All-Star Break.

Consistent positive performance will provide the justification to make those moves.

Can't tell if this is serious, or a joke.

Hope you're right about Hanrahan. Dunno about Drew. I think he's off the table.

I'm fine with Hanrahan, and it's certainly been a popular buzz
on the internet the last day or so.

I meant the, "consistent positive performance will provide the
justification" thing. Really?

I think it'll be more significant than that.

And I'm not sure I want to take Drew off his couch, unless they're succeeding in spite of Tejada. Don't get a draft pick if you offer him a QO (which you probably wouldn't unless he scorches it) and he'd need ramp up time which means he won't be ready immediately.

There are other guys out there via trade, and that will become available via trade, if this ~14% season sample expands to 40-50%.

Bullpen help is the obvious choice, but it's going to depend on what exactly happens between now and then. Chris Young been a bust? get an OF. Starters hurt and Noah and Rafael struggling in Vegas? maybe a veteran SP type.

Let's see some positive performance justification against
the Marlins this weekend. It's April still.

Mex is awesome. Appears out of nowhere, demands the team be re-made in his fashion, and then disappears again. BOO-HOO-HA-HA-HAWW! He's like a Bat-villian.

Me, I think this is the make-or-break series, coming up. Mark my words: we will know for sure by Sunday evening whether or not David Wright is headed somewhere else this year.

4th best team in the NL by record. Even at April 25th, I don't know that I expected that.

It's a long season and this will be moot if they can't find a way to score more runs.

This is both hilarious and true. Who here doesn't expect the Marlins to completely fuck us up this weekend?

The thing with the Marlins is that both times they violently remade their team in the past, the fruits blossomed much faster than prophesied.

A rebuilding Marlins team is always a good longshot bet to suddenly turn into the division's powerhouse.

Drafting high-talent guys and rushing them to the big leagues can do that. I'm putting that on last year for the most part though, I think this year the Mets figure them out a little more, have scouted them a little more, and sweep 'em this weekend.

Yeah, the air could come out of the balloon real quick.
Would just be so nice to end the home stand on a high
note and shake some of the 'Mets can't play well at home'
stuff that has been haunting them.

Hey, they're 6-4 at home when I'm not there.

We'll need to shake that too!!

The Marlins are using an under the radar pitcher named Henderson Alvarez...

If the Mets can touch him and contain Stanton we will be off to a good start...
