Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 This has to be a first: Ike Davis pinch running./pray for Juan
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Lucas is 4-4 and over .300.But Davis pinch-running for a gimpy Laggy. THAT can't be good.Hate to think the game is gonna cost us two starting outfielders.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 That is certainly technically a defensive outfield.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 'nother double switch (Recker for d'A)We're rapidly running out of players here.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Nice get-over by Torres. That was by no means a sure out w/Campana running.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Duda-EY Jr.-Brown was not the defensive outfield alignment Sandy was imagining this offseason.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Strikeouts? Vivid celebrations of same? The Competent Mets Reliever cares not for these things. He just, y'know, fixes messes.Preliminary reports on Granderson and Lagares, as per Gary, are not really reports, in the traditional sense of actually containing information on their current condition/the extent of the injuries.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Apparently they're x-raying the entire left side of Granderson's body to check for, like, broken stuff.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 That was one awful throw. Pitcher trying to hit EY in the butt?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Didn't Ryan Rowland-Smith serve at least one term as Chancellor of the Exchequer prior to being signed by the DBacks?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Hey it's Rolland Smith. Where's Jim Jensen?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Whoa. That woke me up. Young's speed again. And another run.My eyes were doing that closing by themselves thing.*yawn
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 We need to keep adding these tack-on runs tonight, as not only do we have to bullpen-proof this game we also have to OF-defense-proof it too.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Brown giving us a real Cowgillian performance thus far this season.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Torres! Torres! Torres!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Nice play Muffy! I might make it to the end.9th, 1 out.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Wow. Diving stop by Daniel. Great play. 2 out.7-3, a D'back on 2nd.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Torres with an 8 out save! Niiiiice. Mets win 7-3.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 They were reviewing baseball birthdays from yesterday, and one of them noted, "Pete Rose and Greg Maddux the most prominent people born on that day..." and then realized he needed a qualifier and added "... at least among the baseball figures listed there."That clearly triggered a production assistant to search for people outside of baseball more prominent than Pete Rose, because a few beats later the broadcaster added, "It's RITCHIE BLACKMORE's birthday, for all you rockers out there. Great guitarist for Deep Purple, and I hope he's having a fine birthday wherever he is."I needed to pay for an MLB.tv upgrade to get the Met booth, and I didn't, so I worked with what I had. The D-Back booth was stronger than I remember it. I used to be able to rely on them being the drunkest most obnoxious bunch of louts. Working with the sound down and Howie and Josh two-three pitches ahead of the picture just wasn't happening. But Howie would have been proud of a Ritchie Blackmore shoutout.
