Travis could stand to mix in a hit here.

That should be it for Zack. Decent outing. He kept us in the game.

Two biggest sins for Wheeler today:
1) failing to get the bunt down
2) walking the 3rd string catcher to lead off the 5th inning

Instead he's a victim as Row Ark strikes out the side. Geez.

Darn it! It's the same stuff year after year after year. We can't generate offense and the bull pen sucks. Seriously, how many years in a row has this been a problem?

I'll take an order of suck, and might as well get a side
of some suck too. Surprise me.

That almost makes up for it. Nice diving play by Duds.
The short hop grounder was excusable, but the short hop on the blown DP was Doodable.

Well, so much for the pen keeping us close.

Team really appears unprepared for combat so far.

Well, I think I'd say it ain't just the bullpen if they ...

Game 1: 4 of the first 7 NYM hitters in the game score ... they then get only 1 more in regulation after that
Game 2: First NYM batter of the game scores ... then no one else
Game 3: 2 of the first 3 score ... and no one since

I usually like to go to Citi Field in early April so that I can get there before all hope has drained from the season. I was thinking I would go on Saturday, but I'm feeling a strange lack of motivation to drive to Queens to see this club. I'm going to see the Mets play two games in Seattle in July; maybe that will be it for me.

True. But they do look awful. I don't think it will be this bad throughout the season, but it's definitely a very bad start.

David Wright is still awesome.

Juan Lagares is looking like he might actually hit.

Zack Wheeler got through an inning against a strong lineup beyond his tiring point. Good to see.

Colon and Gee both pitched reasonably well.

Tejada so far looks like he's at least shaken some of the yips he had last year and is hitting the ball.

Granderson is a talented player and two+ doubles today bode well.

The bullpen has been pretty bad, but there are some talented arms in there and some of the other guys will be replaced by other talented arms (like Walters, deGrom) down the line. There legitimately IS potential there.

I mean, I'm pissed and frustrated and all but I'm certainly not down on Mets baseball. There's still going to be a lot of fun to be had.

Terry Collins will be borrowing some of Ceetar's post for
his post game press conference.

Score runs, give relievers margins for error, and they will serve you.

Young, first pitch swinging in the ninth, down six, should be made to walk home.

Just tired of wallowing in WoeIsMeIsm and screaming about this and that. I hope Terry's (well, Sandy) is looking into things too, I personally feel like the Mets have come to the regular season a little sluggishly in general the last couple of years, but that just may be me seeing things that fit my preconceived notion.

Get enough WoeIsMe in real life between all the crap I need to get done. I'm personally really excited to see Mejia pitch tomorrow.

I do think this was a big problem last year. We'll see where it goes this year.

I will say I'd rather bring up Vic Black than keep both Torres and Lannan up here, that seems redundant.

I don't do "woe is me." All I'm saying is that I don't want to drive three hours each way to see this team.

And I'm saying there are plenty of reasons why it'd be worth it and fun.

Wasn't accusing you specifically of woe is me, general fanbase temperature and all and my feelings on it.

As the life long Mets fan that I plan to be, this season might be a ride I'm not gonna enjoy but I'm belted in. Hoping for the best, prepared for the worst. I'm always that way at the start. Last season had a lot of worsts. This start is one of those things I'm prepared for.

SWEPT!

Agree with all except Mr.T. He's hitting a bit, yes, but still playing with his head up his ass. It's getting old.

I'm very disappointed.

The team has not looked at all like it was ready to answer the bell.
