Dallas Buyers Club (2013)

Intrigued by McConaughey's Oscar win and impressed with his work on True Detective this season, I rented Dallas Buyers Club today. I was not disappoingted by his performance or that of fellow Oscar winner Jared Leto.

The movie was good but not great. My biggest concern was how many current $100 bills I seemed to see for a movie taking place in the 80s.

I gave it 4 stars.

It was okay. McCaughnahey and Leto were both good but Jennifer Garner was embarrassing and, other than the two guys, the characters were all types. Three stars.

my wife watched it over the weekend. "good performances; depressing" was her summary. I happily avoided it.
