Irony drips at your choice of bow-out music...or the choice you didn't make.

Irony intended.
Hey, if it drags on I may come up with something.

Down with rain delays. Post what has been submitted. If 4/9 or 4/7 of the songs move on, then so be it. It has been extended once and that is enough.

I agree, and apologize again for swinging and missing.

Limping along here, I'll post the tournament thread early Monday. Anybody who hasn't entered the contest can still do so, provided they submit their parody before we go live with this furshlugginer contest. sharpie musta read my mind. There are only six entries, so far. But four will advance to the final round. The final round topic will be open. But with a coupl'a wrinkles or two thrown in, just for fun.

Rules for the Final Championship Round.

1. Song parodies are due on or before April 6, noon.

2. The topic is open. You may choose, as your parody subject, any Met player, coach or manager.

3. The Liverpool wrinkle remains in effect. Your song must parody an original Beatles release, just as in the first round.

4. [u:he374bng]The 1964 wrinkle[/u:he374bng] - your song parody must reference at lease one of the following noteworthy news items, events, people places or things from 1964:

LBJ
MLK
The 1964-65 Worlds Fair
The Beatles
Clay/Liston
Kitty Genovese
The Civil Rights Murders in Philadelphia, Mississippi
Mary Poppins
The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge
James Bond

Your 1964 reference may be as brief or as lengthy as you feel comfortable with.

The contestant whose second round parody receives the most votes will be crowned Champion of the 2014 Liverpool to Crane Pool Song Parody Contest.

Good luck.

One thing I can tell you is you got to be free.

This will have the same limiting effect that the small subject pool of the prior round had.

ugh. Forgot all about this. I don't think even an extension can help me. I am backed up IRL chores. May have to bow out.
:(

I'm sadly with zvon here. I'm all out of inspiration and time and interest and stuff. Sorry

And I'm taking back those orange starred stirrups, too.

I tried to whip one up this last hour. Started 3 different ones, they all sucked 4 lines in. Gah.
